Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) seeks applications for the research scientist position in Quantum Machine Learning. In particular, we are interested in research areas closely related to the use of quantum computing to enhance classical machine learning as well as the use of classical machine learning to mitigate the limitations of (current) quantum computing. We are also interested in exploring the potential use of QML in studying other quantum systems and technologies (communication and sensing).

Successful candidates will work in a vibrant environment and collaborate with other scientists, postdocs, researchers, and students within QC2 and with external collaborators including industry partners. The candidate will participate in theoretical and/or experimental research and be based in a world-class facility within HBKU. The candidate will also have the opportunity to supervise students and apply for funding programs.

QualificationsCandidates are expected to have a PhD in a related area and at least 3 years of postdoctoral research experience in relevant disciplines. The candidate is also expected to have an excellent research track record and to have published in reputable venues.

DurationInitially, the position is for 12 months, then based on satisfactory performance, the contract can be renewed for several years.

About QC2 and HBKUQatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) is a newly established center within HBKU seeded by a major 10M USD grant from the government of Qatar. QC2 will be housed in a world-class purposely built research facility and will partner with both prominent academic research groups and industry leaders. Pay: From QAR400,000.00 per year
