Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain and improve knowledge of power systems, Protection, Automation, Communications, Metering and all related SEL products.
2. Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
3. Applies principles, theories, standard techniques, and concepts to provide solutions to a variety of problems.
4. Engineering Development Program graduate, where applicable.
5. Contributes to product specifications, application and testing software, and literature.
6. Participates in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.
7. Can teach SEL University courses within core area.
8. Publishes application guides, notes, template guides, software tools, and/or technical conference papers.
9. Increasing contributions through customer feedback process, IMI teams, and contributing entries to AE FAQ or knowledge database.
10. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World-Class Manufacturing principles.
11. Understand. Create. Simplify.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent engineering degree).
2. Typically, 2+ years of experience in power systems, industry practices, and focus area.
3. Ability to write and speak English coherently.
4. Listens carefully; provides positive, helpful and professional communication to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
5. Demonstrates composure and professionalism under difficult circumstances.
6. Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. Experiments to find new solutions.
7. Creates a positive and motivating working environment for all.
8. Proven technical training, speaking, writing, and customer service skills.
9. Ability to direct daily work activities with general supervision.
10. Models high standards of honesty and integrity.
11. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
12. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
13. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
14. Ability to travel.
15. Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
16. Negative drug test result(s).
