Work Location: Sapangar Bay Container Port, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah We are seeking an experienced and dynamic People Manager to join our team and provide critical support to the Managing Director, SBCP Sdn Bhd (to be renamed DP World Sabah Sdn Bhd). In this role, you will play a vital role in various HR functions, ensuring the effective and efficient management of human resources activities across the company. You will contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with the company's objectives and values. - Support the Managing Director to execute HR strategies and initiatives that support business objectives within Sabah.
- Assist in the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Manage employee relations matters, mediating conflicts, and maintaining a positive working environment.
- Coordinate and administer training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Participate in compensation and benefits administration, including payroll coordination and benefits enrollment.
- Support the implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the region.
- Assist in HR-related communications and employee engagement activities to foster a strong company culture.
- Stay current with HR trends, best practices, and legal developments to ensure the organization's practices remain competitive and compliant.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an HR Manager and familiar with greenfield/brownfield start-up environment.
- Strong understanding of Malaysia and Sabah labor laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with HR software is advantageous.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Language Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English are essential as the role will provide HR support for the Malaysia market. The candidate should be able to effectively communicate, collaborate, and review/draft policies/documentation in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
