Salary group A 14 BBesG/remuneration group 14 TVöD Civil servant/indefinite employment relationship Full-time/part-time suitable For tariff employees, an additional temporary IT specialist allowance of up to 1000 euros may be considered. The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a scientific and technical higher federal authority based in Berlin. As a departmental research institution of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, we research, test and advise on the protection of people, the environment and material goods. Our activities in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry focus on the technical safety of products and processes. Become part of our team of dedicated employees! Your tasks:- Technical team leader of the IT infrastructure department in the VP.2 "Information Technology" unit
- Responsibility for planning, implementation, operation and ongoing, requirements-based further development of central IT services: Data center, server and storage infrastructure, network and communication technology, Linux system operation, virtualization and eScience applications in a high-performance computing (HPC) environment
- Successfully completed university degree (Master's/Diploma) in the field of computer science, business informatics, business administration or comparable
- Experience in the management of IT organizational units, operational planning and further development of the IT expertise required in the team
- Many years of experience and broad knowledge in the operation of complex IT infrastructures
- Budget planning and controlling
- Requirements management and solution development for complex IT services and their operating concepts
- Several years of experience in commissioning and managing external service providers
- Experience in planning and implementing complex infrastructure projects
- Proven German language skills of at least C2 level are required as well as good written and spoken English skills
- Very good communication and information behavior, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/willingness and ability to work, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate as well as resilience
- Interesting IT environment with the task of supporting interdisciplinary research at the interface to politics, business and society
- Work in national and international networks with universities, research institutions and industrial companies
