Practice Manager, Security Operations - Technology Security and Identity at Ministry of Social Development, Wellington - Wairarapa

Key Responsibilities- Providing specialist advice and guidance to MSD staff on day-to-day security operations matters.
- Enabling continuous monitoring, detection and response to cyber-security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities in MSD's environment.
- Delivering best practice operational security services and controls to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and information on MSD systems.
- Development and maintenance of standard operating procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the practice.
- Proven experience as an IT Security Operations Manager, or a similar role within large and complex organisations working in a people leadership capacity.
- Extensive professional and technical experience in IT Security Operations.
- Strong experience in the development and implementation of security operations strategies.
- Strong knowledge of security operations tools and processes.
- Solid understanding of current cyber security principles, standards and frameworks including NZISM, PSR, NIST, ISO 27001, ACSC Essential Eight and CertNZ Top Ten controls.
- Experience in workforce strategy development and workforce planning.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- A strong understanding of agile ways of working.
