We are seeking an individual to help drive the continued growth of ERM's business through selling and delivering world-class services, recruiting, and developing our next generation of leaders, and further advancing our reputation for supporting the development of some of the world's most complex projects.As a senior leader, you will be accountable for selling and overseeing development of regulatory strategies, stewarding data collection and preparatory studies, and undertaking federal and provincial environmental, social, economic, heritage and health impact assessments, and permit applications, and supporting client Indigenous and public engagement to build a sustainable business in Canada, while networking with ERM's regional and global technical communities to share best practices across the mining industry.ERM's Impact Assessment service area in Canada focuses on supporting development of projects in the mining and energy sectors. Our approach is to work with our clients to identify their environmental and social impacts and risks throughout the project lifecycle so that they can be managed - from early in project concept inception through to closure implementation. This is a key role in growing ERM's Impact Assessment business across its broad portfolio of service offerings, both domestically and internationally, including:Environmental (climate & air, integrated water, wildlife/biodiversity & ecosystems)Social performance (Indigenous and stakeholder engagement, economic, archaeology, and human health)Impact assessment and permittingManagement and monitoring plansRegulatory strategyProject siting studiesCompliance monitoringRESPONSIBILTIES:Collaborate with other ERM Partners, our Client Account Directors and Managers to actively develop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that result in significant revenue growth with mining clients aligned with ERM's global strategy.Provide business value, raising the profile of ERM's capabilities and selling strategically within client organizations.Develop new and expand existing client relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.Maintain a pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.Manage business opportunities and use technical expertise to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, and contracting.Contribute to leadership and management of project execution activities in support of ERM clients' mining and other major capital projects.Lead consulting engagements in the areas of impact assessment, technical discipline-specific consulting and/or permitting and compliance.Build, grow and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with them to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed, and given new areas of responsibility.Support the growth and development of ERM's global Impact Assessment & Planning service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the business to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM's global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.Meet business health & safety performance standards, financial targets, overall project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal risk management and contractual requirements.REQUIREMENTS:BSc/MSc in environmental science, engineering, law or equivalent.15+ years of demonstrated experience with capital project delivery, impact assessment and/or permitting, working substantially with the mining sector in Canada.In-depth understanding of the mining industry, including juniors, mid-tier and major miners and existing industry relationships that can be leveraged into new business.Demonstrated experience working with federal and provincial legislation and policies that apply to mine project development and permitting in Canada.Business acumen to understand risks and challenges and to recognize opportunities to provide enterprise-wide solutions for clients.Demonstrable track record in delivering multi-million-dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning and delivering large and strategic projects to successful regulatory outcomes.Established reputation in Canada, including industry and government relationships.Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with Indigenous organizations and governments.Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.Bilingualism (French, Spanish, other) is a strong asset.Who We Are: As the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world's leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.
