Our client a leading women and children hospital in the GCC is currently looking for a Nursing Director to lead and manage their nursing department. Other responsibilities will include :
- Ensure the care of the child is performed in accordance with the current relevant legislation established hospital policies and procedures and international best practice.
- Accountable for the administration performance management and financial management of the organization nursing services with a particular focus on quality risk management and patient safety.
- Responsible for providing strategic leadership to the CEO and Executive team on issues relating to the nursing workforce.
- Working closely with the executive nursing team and Director of Human Resources develop and implement effective workforce plans recruitment and retention strategies for nursing.
- Collaborates and leads as appropriate with nursing staff interdisciplinary and Executive teams within the organization and with external stakeholders to improve the standards of care.
- Implements systems and/or processes to advance.
- Ensures that nursing staff have the knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of their clinical and managerial roles.
- Fosters a positive culture within nursing that values continuing professional development and striving for excellence in the delivering of patient care.
- Provides leadership to facilitate the development of research and evaluation in all aspects of the care delivery system and ensure its application to practice across the nursing professions.
- Manages organizational relationships in a way that builds and maintains a climate of trust and inspires commitment from others to achieve organization goals in a complex environment.
- Participates on various committees related to Nursing and Organizational operations advising on all projects equipment staff and policy decisions that affect patient care services.
- Works with the organization to ensure that a comprehensive orientation program is in place for all new staff.
- Ensures mandatory programs are maintained and adequate training and continuing education programs are available for all levels of nursing staff.
- Maintains a positive work environment for staff and actively promotes the image of nursing.
- Delegates effectively and appropriately.
- Consults in areas of professional and operational expertise organizational and with other institutions and health care agencies as appropriate.
- Facilitates the implementation of plans projects and programs to meet the critical success factors of the health service health provider teams and the organization.
- Develops and implement new patient care program initiatives and evaluate the outcomes.
- Keeps records and prepare reports of nursing service activities as / when required by the organization.
- Takes a lead role in major disaster response as appropriate.
- Provides the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer with expert nursing advice.
- Collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organization.
- Motivates and leads a highperformance leadership team; attracts recruits and retains required members of the executive team not currently in place; provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program.
- Maintains professional affiliations to enhance professional growth and remain current with the latest trends in hospital/healthcare management.
- Champion a professional and open culture which empowers all team members to deliver safe and compassionate practice and act as a role model for the values behaviors and high professional standards expected.
- Leads drives and model behaviors to staff children young people and their families that reflect the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC)
- Can evaluate and adjust policy to enhance professional practice and service delivery outcomes.
- Develops an environment which promotes continuous improvement in practice and a culture within the organization which is open to critical reflection and change.
- Represents the organization nationally and internationally. This may include participating in and/or leading working groups/committees public speaking engagements.
- Model and promote workplace behavior that reflects the Health Code of Conduct.
- Always upholds the organization customer service standards.
- Maintaining confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role in accordance with facility policy.
- Ensures a comprehensive system approach to the identification and resolution of issues relating to quality of care inclusive of but not limited to patient complaints.
- Ensures systems are in place to comply with organization standards policies and procedures.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate would have:- Masters qualification in Management/ Nursing/Administration or certified PhD degree
- Minimum 15 years of clinical experience post qualification and 5 years in a DON position OR 5 years in A/DON Position in a hospital deals with pediatric and/or womens population.
- Extensive knowledge of health care business or public administration
- Highlevel administration and management within healthcare or similar experience is desired
- Experience of clinical and/or corporate governance.
