Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring successful system study and planning for pre and post transmission project formalities that are carried out with the objective to improve the redundancy of the transmission network, and achieve end user satisfaction within the limits of company policies.

Area Of Responsibility

System PlanningManage the planning, executing, and controlling the High Voltage Grid Substation and Transmission Line projects through all phases from design till execution and closure.

Plan, organize and direct the activities of the Project Engineer teams within the matrix environment.

Review and approve projects schedules and coordinate project progress review meetings with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure project completion on time.

Follow up electrical execution work on assigned projects on project sites to ensure correct interpretation of designs regarding installation.

Review and present technical reports, feasibility studies results and proposals.

Assist in preparation of electrical specifications for major electrical equipment of 220kV, 132kV and 11kV Grid Substation and Transmission Line.

Develop standards and procedures related to electrical engineering practice, ensuring best practices for project delivery.

System StudyConceive and establish scope of work for major projects or proposals.

Maintain quality control on projects as pertains to project engineering discipline.

Management of man hours, shutdown plans, resources and schedule delivery.

Review and approve significant manpower requirements and exercising management direction with respect to selection and training of staff.

Responsible for ensuring that the drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards.

Conduct analytical power system studies in support of Business Development opportunities for transmission network expansion, interconnection of new generation, and load.

Contractor Evaluation, SATs & FATsInspection of Sites Acceptance Tests (SAT's) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT's) for electrical equipment on assigned projects.

Assist in technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment on assigned projects.

Specify and prepare material requisitions for electrical equipment on assigned projects.

Review and approve supplier documents for electrical work on assigned projects.

Develop and conduct audits for ISO compliance to maintain all applicable procedures, standards, policies on safety and quality control.

Knowledge And Skills

Bachelors of Electrical Engineering, 03 years' experience in the field of Transmission system planning and project development.
