Senior Rust Engineer for Persistence LabsAbout the rolePersistence Labs is looking for an experienced Rust engineer who knows what it takes to ship high-quality software in production. The ideal candidate takes pride in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code and is an advocate for best practices, continually looking to learn and to improve.We are looking for an engineer who can thrive in a remote, fast-paced, innovative startup environment and who isn't deterred by unknowns or unfamiliar concepts. We expect clear communication, both written and verbal, as well as comfort with challenging and mentoring other engineers to help them achieve their greatest potential.Roles & responsibilitiesDesign, build, ship, and maintain production-grade blockchain softwareProduce and review technical designs and reference documentationContribute to team planning, estimation, and roadmappingPromote and implement software engineering best practicesCoach junior developersLead code reviews and demonstrationsBasic qualificationsA Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technical field3+ years experience as a full-time software developerStrong knowledge of modern software development and testing practicesStrong expertise in Rust with prior experience of building applications in RustNecessary experience in Javascript/typescriptWell versed with Github practices and Github CIExperience with CosmWasm or other WASM execution enginesStrong knowledge about blockchains and proof of stakeExcellent troubleshooting skillsPreferred qualificationsExperience with cloud native application development (k8s, Docker, GH actions, CI/CD)Frontend development and integration experienceKnowledge of RPC/websockets, web2js, cosmjs/cosmos-sdkExperience in building DeFi (decentralized finance) dAppsModerate experience with any one of these Postgres, Graphql, and leveldbBONUS: Experience with Liquid StakingBONUS: Experience with Cosmos-SDK / Cosmos IBC tech-stackBONUS: Open Source Contributions, especially within the blockchain spaceAbout The TeamPersistence Labs is a team of 25+ highly motivated and skilled individuals working towards a common goal. The team has a total of 4 functions across each product team - Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Business Development. In addition, Persistence Labs has a corporate team responsible for Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Finance.We are a fully global team with people coming together from all parts of the world - Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.Members of the Persistence team have been early Cosmos community members and helped launch the Cosmos Hub in 2019.
