Come Grow with FRMG!The OpportunityWe are currently accepting resumes from motivated individuals who would like to join FRMG as a General Manager for the administration of the Timiskaming Forest Alliance Inc. Reporting to the CEO of FRMG, the incumbent provides business administration and coordination of forest management services to the Timiskaming Forest Alliance Inc. (TFAI). This position can be located anywhere in Northeastern Ontario as we have offices in Kirkland Lake, New Liskeard, North Bay, and Hornepayne, Ontario. Our preference is anywhere between New Liskeard and Timmins.With an emphasis on client service, you will be tasked to lead a team of foresters and technical specialists in the delivery of large-scale forest program, from forest planning, certification, silviculture, forest operations and reporting. Working closely with your counterparts responsible for other forestry program delivery items, you will excel at communicating actively and frequently with your team members, your colleagues, and our clients. You will have deep and extensive knowledge of the forest tenure system in Ontario. You will also give the highest priority to on-time budget submissions and the subsequent delivery of approved projects, including ongoing and timely progress updates to clients.Your Responsibilities and DutiesProvide forest management services to the Sustainable Forest License (SFL) on behalf of First Resources Management Group Inc. (FRMG), acting as the management agent.Lead the business administration of the SFL's management, including managing the SFL corporation and its day-to-day OBCA responsibilities.Uphold the SFL's environmental, health and safety policies, annual objectives, procedures, and monitoring.Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and prevailing legislation and regulations.Communicate and mediate between the SFL and shareholders, licensees, contractors, and various government ministries.Liaise between the SFL and Indigenous communities, and other industry stakeholders.Prepare and control annual budgets and ensure that suitable record-keeping systems are in place to meet general accounting and silviculture financial audits.Provide coordination of the forest management program with broad guidance and direction.Manage the creation of annual work schedules, forest management plans, and annual reports.Negotiate forest management contracts for silviculture and monitoring.Engage with shareholders and operators to assist them in completing their harvesting activities and following legislation, rules and regulations.Ensure all operations are consistent with third-party certification standards.Your QualificationsUniversity Degree or College Diploma in business administration and management or forestry with relevant management experience.Minimum of 5 years of business leadership experience.Experience in governance and the application of the Ontario Business Corporation Act.Experience with the understanding and interpretation of shareholder agreements.Experience with the management of boards, shareholders, and stakeholders.Ability to communicate under challenging situations and conditions.Experience with the development of budgets, financial controls, review engagements, and audits.Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Teams and other financial systems.Forestry-related experience is an asset (but not a requirement).Valid Ontario "G" Class Drivers License and reliable vehicle.Ability to travel regularly and as needed.Culture of an FRMG Team MemberYou emphasize a strong commitment to health and safety by modeling it in your daily practice.
