Here, you'll be supported in progressing - whatever your ambitions.About the roleThe Principal Electronics Hardware Designer uses their expertise in the definition, design and testing of analog and digital electronics as part of the development of EP ablation medical devices. As a member of EP's electrical equipment design team in Montreal, the candidate designs and tests electronic circuits for the delivery of high voltage PFA treatments, communications and interface circuits for medical devices. The candidate provides leadership to the more junior members of the design team.Your responsibilities will include:Design, develop, debug, modify and test electrical circuits and systems using the latest tools, analysis techniques and technologies.Resolve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending the implementation of corrective or preventative measures.Study, research and select electronic circuits, components, tools, and equipment using best practices.Document the development of electrical components by writing procedures, reports, memos and change requests.Track electrical component development efforts by creating and maintaining records in approved tracking management tools.Clearly communicate key technical updates to relevant parties to facilitate informed decision-making.Develop new product or process enhancements to strengthen BSC's intellectual property portfolio in key strategic areas.Work collaboratively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical research and marketing departments on complex projects to ensure success.Train technicians and other engineers or give them work instructions.Demonstrate a leading commitment to patient safety and product quality at all times by adhering to all documented quality processes and procedures.Required qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.7+ years of experience in the following:PCB Layout using Altium Designer / Schematic, Layout and Documentation PackageAnalog Circuit DesignSwitching Power Supply DesignPower Magnetics DesignLow Noise circuit Analog DesignMicrocontroller based circuitsLow Speed Digital designStrong analytical skills for Circuit Development and DocumentationStrong electrical engineering simulation skills, Spice based or MATLABSolid lab experience with circuit debugging, test fixtures development, and relevant lab test equipmentExcellent organizational, communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work with or lead a team efficiently and independentlyPreferred Qualifications:Experience in designing analog/power supply electronicsExperience in designing Low Noise analog electronicsExperience in designing Power Supply Magnetic ComponentsExperience using electrical engineering analytical techniques to translate high-level requirements into realizable circuit designs.Familiarity with signal processing conceptsExperience in the field of medical device electronics.Familiarity using uC, CPLD and FPGA circuits.Familiarity using Python for automation of simulation and data analytics.Ability to solve complex problems by analyzing root causes, including designing and executing experimental plans and using statistical methodologies to make data-driven decisions.Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical information from multiple and varied sources.Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently to plan, schedule and execute activities necessary to meet project deadlines.Requisition ID: 589650As a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most - united by a deep caring for human life.
