Position Overview Calian is seeking an Orthopaedic Surgeon to work part-time at CFB Kingston. This position offers Physicians a unique opportunity to work with Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members without having to become members themselves. Responsibilities Providing general orthopaedic consultation service to CAF members on a referral basis.Performing comprehensive diagnosis, medical management, and rehabilitation of patients.Determining procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, applying surgical procedures, and coordinating operations with anesthesiologists.Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team for case conferences when on-site.Practicing as a member of a multidisciplinary team and consulting with members of other health professions as appropriate to ensure the health care needs of CAF members are met.Practicing in accordance with the Canadian Armed Forces' Spectrum of Care, Drug Benefit List, and Code of Ethics. Qualifications Currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).Full hospital privileges at an acute care medical facility to perform surgery and deal with complications.Eligible for Government security clearance at Reliability level.
