Purpose of the position:• Executing various marketing activities that support market strategies and that facilitate the accomplishment of regional or large country objectives for sales and market penetration.Principal Responsibilities:• Proposes marketing strategies adapted to each country in the region, taking into account the specific local conditions, to contribute to efficient marketing of products and services.• Carries out the approved marketing activities in line with managerial direction.• Provides advice to local managers on issues related to marketing to facilitate the accomplishment of objectives for sales and market penetration.• Assesses sales performance versus objectives for marketing penetration and proposes actions when a deviation from expected performance level occurs.• Performs market research work assigned by the regional management, which will improve the quality of the basis for decisions on marketing strategies and objectives. Required critical behaviours or competencies:• Ability to co-ordinate marketing activities in a region, which requires understanding of cultural differences between countries, and how to apply different marketing strategies to different countries depending on differences in industrial infrastructure.• Ability to communicate and negotiate internally with regional and local managers, both in sales function and other functions that the marketing function interacts with.• Ability to communicate effectively in the marketing campaigns to reach customers with a certain message.• Must have communicative skills to motivate subordinate staff to reach expected results.• Must be able to assess and make judgements about the market situation. These situations are not always similar and can vary from one case to another. Most cases require experienced-based knowledge. Some cases require thinking based on theoretical knowledge.• Impact on the business is indirect through the quality of own work and effective marketing activities, contributing to the achievement of regional or local objectives for sales and market share.Required key skills (functional/technical):• Possess knowledge of the gas industry's potentials and pitfalls on a regional or local level.• Knowledge about the gas consumption among existing and potential customers and basic knowledge of how to apply industrial gases into the manufacturing process is required.• Advanced knowledge in sales and marketing is required, especially marketing services business to business.• Knowledge about how own function contributes to local and regional results.Required qualifications/experience:• Expected to have an academic degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration or Science.• A number of years in a qualified position (4 - 6 years) are required.
