The Operational HSSE discipline partners with the Businesses to achieve Goal Zero by providing them with overall safety support and ensuring the delivery of effective HSSE management processes. What's the role? This role supports the Sabah Deepwater Asset in Shell Malaysia's Upstream Conventional Oil and Gas PU
- Responsible for delivering Goal Zero aspiration and other HSE performance.
- Responsible for effective learning from incidents at the location to avoid future occurrences.
- Provide an additional level of assurance for country legislative requirements; group HSE & SP CF, SMEP SSE procedures from within the location.
- Responsible for driving good safety culture and practices at location.
- Ensure full compliance with Shell Group Life Saving Rules and Malaysian laws always related to HSSE.
- Incumbent is by default the secretary of the location safety and health committee as per OSH (Safety and Health Committee) Regulations 1996.
- For high-risk activities: review documentation (permits, certificates, JHA/HIP, checklists, SDS, and procedures) to ensure that hazards and their controls and mitigations are adequately identified.
- Perform regular checks that the control measures of the permits are adequately in place and are being correctly implemented and maintained during work execution. Checking that no new risks have appeared and ascertaining whether additional risks should be considered in the PTW.
- Monthly compliance review of the HSSE training matrix, by working together with PS & MS, coordinate HSSE training for site personnel to ensure no outstanding or potential overdue HSSE competencies at the site.
- Provide/coordinate HSE training on-site or for site personnel. Providing training and guidance to newcomers to the locations and leading the safety briefing for personnel coming onboard.
- Focal Point for and drive the close out of audit/review/verification findings/remedial actions including but not limited to HSE Case Remedial Action Plan, HSSE Control Frameworks, and Fountain System.
- Coordinate monthly scheduled drill exercises, compile drill reports, and follow up on the identified gaps.
- Lead location HSE Improvement program, analyze and share incident and ACT trending.
- Possesses DOSH Safety and Health Officer (SHO) Green Book. Green Book certification or a clear gap closure plan towards certification will be considered.
- Must have at least minimum 5 years working experiences as a Safety and Health Officer within the oil and gas industry either offshore or onshore.
- Energetic and self-driven individual with proven experience in Offshore. • Promote good collaboration between offshore and onshore staff, as well as cross-shift good working relationship
- Good understanding of Frontline Operations business.
- Well-versed with the oil and gas industry's HSE procedures and legal requirements is an advantage.
- Possesses DOSH Safety and Health Officer (SHO) Green Book
- Green Book certification or a clear gap closure plan towards certification will be considered.
