Position Summary:

1. The purpose of the Data Governance Data Analyst in Investment Management would be to play a key role in implementing Data Governance strategy to address real-world business needs utilizing innovative technology solutions
2. The Analyst will coordinate data governance activities with Investment Management business teams to establish reliable and trustworthy Investment Data
3. The Analyst will communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders across Global Technology, Business, Operations, and other departments

1. Be the voice of the customers – understand the business needs and translate them into technical requirements in realizing Voya’s vision of data managed as an asset
2. Work with the business partners and stakeholders to define the future products and roadmap for Data Governance
3. Help manage the contribution of data stewards by building and compiling a business glossary and metadata repository leveraging Data Governance suite with a focus on increasing efficiency by making it easier to access data meaning and context
4. Oversee the definition, enhancement and compliance of data quality standards and business rules using the Data Governance software suite and related tools
5. Understand and articulate the technology vision and strategy, ensure that technology solution is successfully aligned with business goals and priorities
6. Lead the hands-on implementation of a central process to capture, prioritize and manage data quality issues across the firm including familiarity with data profiling, rulemaking, workflows, and remediation efforts
7. Translate Business Functional requirements into Data Governance Requirements, partnering with the data modelers on the modeling solution
8. Engage with project teams in terms of understanding the data models and relationships
9. Perform data-driven analysis and develop recommendations to guide decision making of data quality standards
10. Manage the Product Backlog effectively to maximize the delivered value, including developing and clearly communicating sprint goals and priorities
11. Create and clearly articulate product backlog items, ensure that the product backlog is transparent, visible, and understood
12. Define user Stories based on customer requirements and synthesize use cases
13. Translate business needs into requirements for a technical audience, define acceptance criteria and document features in Business Requirement Documentation (BRD)
14. Coordinate and aid testing of new products and features
15. Build a strong rapport with the Investment Management teams, Operations personnel, Information Technology teams and Vendor teams
16. Interact with personnel across onsite/offshore based out of US and India

1. 5-8 years of professional experience in technology or business analysis
2. 5+ years of Data/Application/Architecture related work experience
3. 2+ years of experience working within the Investment Management (buy-side) and/or Financial Services industry would be a bonus
4. Proven experience in a Data Analyst role in an Agile/Scrum software development organization and understanding of the development lifecycle
5. Excellent decision-making ability to manage a complex ever changing priority list and resolve conflicts to competing priorities
6. Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written
7. Proficiency in managing functional communication to technical stakeholders and technical communication to non-technical stakeholders
8. Strong Analyst with a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
9. Ability to embrace, adapt and lead through change, foster effective partnerships, and drive effective collaboration with peers and vendor resources
10. Good knowledge of Data Stewardship, Data Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality and Data Monitoring utilizing relevant tools and technologies like Collibra, Ataccama, Informatica etc.
11. Strong knowledge of data analysis and data reporting frameworks
12. Proficiency in writing SQL queries and data profiling using relevant tools
13. Proficiency in MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and PowerPoint
