Role Purpose Purchasing is a function within Procurement tasked with managing Fleet Management's supply chains to ensure cost efficiency and operational effectiveness. Logistics role is to plan and coordinate inbound & outbound physical goods movement, manage inventory, customs and cross border trade flows for operational effectiveness and efficiency.The role of Logistics officer is to plan, schedule and manage logistics operations to support Fleet Management's global operations, lead and support projects that drives effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability.Role Accountabilities Logistics Operations ManagementCoordinate with Fleet, purchasers and suppliers to schedule and optimise physical goods flow for cost efficiency and across operationally effective trade routes that meets Vessel's requested delivery timeframe and locations.Schedule, monitor and track shipments, manage timely receiving and consol operations at designated warehouses, spearhead effective operational challenge resolution to meet performance KPIs.Ensure trade documentations comply to customs, safety and jurisdictional requirements for each consignment and deliveryMonitor and track freight costs, follow through on timely transactional close-out by vessels and ship managers.Collaborate with Accounts Payable (AP) to verify supplier's invoice accuracy, resolve discrepancies in a timely manner with suppliers and ship managers to ensure payments accuracy and timeliness.Business SupportProvide stakeholders with domain knowledge, process guidance and progress updates to ensure seamless order fulfilment, mitigate associated logistics risks, cost inflation and potential value leakages.Jointly develop Logistics Plan with stakeholders to meet targeted operational and project objectives.Develop Process Maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and process improvement plans, to drive operational improvements and cost savings.Jointly develop, maintain and periodically publish logistics dashboard.Procurement ProcessSource, negotiate and procure freight to support operations in a cost efficient and operationally effective manner that conforms to procurement governance protocols while reporting non-conformances with supporting evidence in timely manner.Monitor and publish periodically price comparisons across trade routes.Manage cost deflation and risk mitigation as well as other business support activities.Supplier Performance ManagementMonitor and benchmark supplier's performance periodically and against agreement.Collaborate with supplier(s) to jointly identify cost savings and operations improvement initiatives.Ensure consignment and inventory accuracy, conduct annual stock take and cycle count to fulfil inventory KPIs.SafetyTake responsibility for the safety of myself and those around me by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety I's & Accountability ladder).Challenge and stop unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Polices and Operating Procedures.Key Qualifications & Skills QualificationsTertiary education with at least 5 years' experience in logistics.Candidates with merchant marine is preferred (but logistics experience is essential.Technical SkillsDemonstrate extensive understanding of logistics operations and best practices, including development of logistics plans, processes and policies.Demonstrate ability to develop project plans and lead small to moderate complexity projectsDemonstrate ability to prioritise and effective time management.Ability to analyse and process moderate amounts of complex information from multiple sources with research to present logical conclusions and recommendations.Purchasing experience desired.Competency in MS Office applications.Knowledge of AMOS M&P, or similar ERP system would be an advantage.Soft SkillsDemonstrated ability to establish and nurture productive working relationships with stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to compose and communicate effectively with stakeholders.Demonstrate ability to nurture partnerships, influence and foster alignment with stakeholders.Swire Digital Centre (SDC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swire Shipping Pte.
