Head of Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Engineering department and to drive the evolution of our SaaS ecosystem.

With BIMcollab, our flagship product suite, we are the market leader in BIM quality control with modelchecking and issuemanagement, stimulating BIM-based collaboration throughout the whole lifecycle of buildings or infrastructure. For example, the headquarters is virtually carbon-neutral and KUBUS offsets all CO2 emissions by planting new trees in cooperation with Trees For All, of which we are a forest partner.

About your role

The aim of the Head of Engineering is to lead the charge in advancing the BIMcollab ecosystem and engineering standards, collaborate closely with management to define strategy, improve internal practices and cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence, and take responsibilities for the software deliveries. As the right hand to the CEO in all technical matters, you'll play a crucial part in driving forward our product-related initiatives but also in elevating our organizational maturity.

Key responsibilities:

Engineering leadershipLead and inspire a dynamic technology department to drive the evolution and continuous improvement of our SaaS ecosystem BIMcollab.Lead and mentor a team of 45+ engineers, setting goals, providing guidance and support to drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, quality, and delivery speed, and ensuring the team meets delivery commitments.Play a leading role in resource allocation, team topology, and recruiting of the engineering department.End-responsible for people management within the Engineering department, including recruiting, evaluating, growing and coaching of Engineers.Collaborative StrategyWork closely with the CEO, Head of Product and Chief Architect to define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligned with organizational goals and market trends.Measure, improve, and maintain the quality of the BIMcollab software architecture and implementation in terms of reliability & resilience, maintainability & flexibility, scalability & performance, and security & compliance, actively balancing software delivery needs with software quality needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align work streams and establish a reliable and predictable release model for BIMcollab.Ensure the optimal application of engineering resources to meet product development and organization requirements.Development practicesImplement and continuously improve development practices, including DevSecOps and DataOps, to ensure high-quality software & data solutions.Implement and continuously improve software quality and security processes to ensure the integrity, resilience, and regulatory compliance of our software & data solutions.Innovation and excellenceFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement with the engineering team to deliver cutting-edge solutions and drive excellence in all aspects of our technology ecosystem.Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance the engineering process, security, and software quality.
