About TheJobPlan and monitor theday-to-day operational activities related to assigned fleetvessels. In addition, provide technical advice to eliminate anysafety hazards that may be associated with vesselsoperationsKeyAccountabilitiesPlan and manage the day to dayoperational activities related to assigned fleet vessels to supportvoyage requirements in accordance with department manager'sdirection and controlMonitor and superviseperformance of work activities such as passage planning, shipsupplies, crew management, berthing arrangements, and cargotransfer schedules to ensure achievement of assignedtargetsInitiate modifications to workpractices in accordance with established regulations to ensure thatall activities are carried without risk to personnel, environmentor assetsDefine work deliverables andachievement milestones in accordance with approvedtargetsStudy and examine progress of dailyworks and recommends alterations to work plan to meet approvedschedulesCarry out work load analysis todetermine additional human capital and material resources requiredin line with approved work practicesInspectand report daily work conditions and recommends modifications toeliminate safety hazards to personnel, environment, orassetsDistribute and monitor compliance tochanges in work instructions in accordance with revisions oralterations to international or stateregulationsInteract with counterparts, shipsmasters, and external agencies to resolve operational conflicts andfacilitate ships passage and voyagerequirementsContribute to the development andapproval of ships contingency plans and participates in emergencydrills to ensure preparedness and promote safetycultureProvide professional advice and act asan expert to team members and the organization on relatedmattersReview and evaluate reports, log books,and statistics submitted by vessels' management staffmembers or ships' agents to ensure ships are being operatedin accordance with approved proceduresMonitorthe scheduling and dispatching of vessels' bunkers,provisions, and supplies and maintain tracking and tracing ofmaterials in transit to ensure delivery to ships according toplanned programsEvaluate expenditure reportingfrom ships' masters and make recommendations for changes toprocedures, operating systems, budgets and other financial controlfunctions to department and other senior managers to ensure costeffective ship operation in accordance with budgetsanctionsAct as liaison between the ships andagents, charterers, and other external stakeholders to ensurepreparation and completion of necessary requirements prior to shipsarrival/departure to port and sailing toseaRespond to ship masters inquiries on voyageschedules and other matters of concern to avoid any confusion oroperational delays and to ensure clarity of voyageordersScreen and Audit fleet vesselsmanagement standards and operating conditions, and oversee thesafety of operations related to marine activities to ensurecompliance to safety, regulatory, state, and classrequirementsMinimumQualificationBachelor Degree in Marine Engineeringor Foreign Master Mariner Certificate (Class 1) or an equivalentexperienceRelevant professional certifications/ licenses internally recognizedMinimum Experience,Knowledge & SkillsAround 8 years total work experienceprogressing to the rank of Chief Officer orMasterExperience on similar type of vessels tobe supervised or equivalent INT
