Head of Regulatory Affairs & Governance

Strategic Executive hire for Corporate Governance leader to join a global investment bank as their Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) to accommodate their business expansion in India. This reputable investment bank has a strong reputation in running Capital Markets and Global Markets businesses with an ambition to become a licensed capital markets business in India. This Head of Regulatory Affairs & Corporate Governance will have the huge responsibility of the overall middle-back office management and infrastructure development for their newly expanded business in India. The role will be reporting to the APAC Head of Legal & Compliance. Manage regulatory relationships with local regulators in India, such as SEBI and RBI Design and roll out a high performing corporate governance control framework and provide corporate affairs services to the Board of Directors Carry out the compliance program and provide oversight of both regulatory and financial crime risk with the rule of all relevant India regulatory requirements, as well as global standard policies required Be the go-to person to ensure firm-wide licensing activities and implement country compliance policies and procedures for all staff onshore Form local corporate governance committees and ensure the Board to provide a high-quality support to the relevant Chairperson Conduct local Finance and accounting tasks and work closely with the regional finance team to ensure accuracy and completeness of books and records, including but not limited to liaise with external parties such as tax advisors and big4 Qualifications & Requirements: 20+ years' legal or compliance experiences within reputable securities/investment banks in India, previous APAC work exposures considered as a plus Previous KMP/ direct regulatory liaisons Demonstrate sound regulatory knowledge of SEBI and RBI Well-rounded corporate governance (risk, legal, compliance, finance) background and Qualified Company Secretary in India (ICSI) is highly desired A builder with strong organisational skills to handle global stakeholders' engagement Great communicator and fluency in English PRB
