OUR SCHOOL ROLE SUMMARY: To adopt a leadership role within the preparatory school ensuring a holistic view to students and staff. Promoting the general progress and well-being of all students and teachers specifically focusing on guaranteeing a high level of academic support. Create a positive learning environment and motivate teachers and students to ensure an education at the highest level. Carry out duties of a Junior Preparatory class teacher. Part of the campus management team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Internal Academic responsibility 1. Set and reflect on academic targets as well as evaluate the outcomes on a continuous basis. 2. Monitor, manage and implement work schedules. 3. Ensure that communication to parents of students who are underperforming, indicates areas of concern and suggested remedial action and, or further assessment. 4. Update and contribute to the Reddam House Newsletter and Application (App) to ensure that relevant information relating to academic matters is conveyed to parents. 5. Oversee the reporting system. 6. Draw up the JP timetable. 7. Carry out class teaching duties/responsibilities. External Academic Responsibility 1. Be available to attend parent meetings and ensure that all relevant details that pertain to the student is available and on file for future reference and counselling sessions 2. Communicate with parents at functions/ meetings/ Information Evenings regarding academic mattes 3. Responsible for all correspondence with IEB / ISASA / Dept. of Education for all relevant Junior Preparatory matters. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Able to set clear expectations and stretch goals Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback to parents and students Ability to judge learning effectiveness Experience and confidence with the use of ICT Proficient in English Take responsibility and assist with the mentorship of all new staff members Be approachable and caring to students, parents and colleagues Work on being an individual with high EQ Communicate accurately to relevant stakeholders Experience in leading a team A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role will be advantageous.
