Battery Energy Storage System Specialist

Tasks and responsibilities: To act as an expert within the area and support organization as thought leader in- and outside of organisationDevelop battery container layouts and coordinate with electrical, civil, Solar and wind experts for complete packages to meet client needs. Review load profiles and simulate Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to meet project goals. Thorough knowledge on the compliance standards related to C&I BESS Knowledge about UPS, Inverters, Transformers selection for C&I BESSDevelop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for battery systems. Model energy storage system performance, coordinate, obtain and integrate BMS, EMS and SCADA designs for the battery system from third party monitoring companies. Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for different clients. Design different types of battery enclosure type solutions like cabinet type, container type, building type storage solution. Investigate design factors such as function, durability, performance, efficiency, and contractual requirements. Drive BESS technical due diligence from initial screen until turnover. Perform value engineering, engineering studies, prepare detailed estimates, cost analysis and as-built designs for BESS. Write reports to summarize project findings.Eligibility: We support you in your personal and professional development right from the start. To get started with us, you should meet the following requirements: B.Tech (B.E) or M.Tech. (M.E) in Engineering (energy systems, electrical engineering). Min 6 years of professional working experience from the energy sector, with specialized focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tasks. Knowledge of different applications of battery systems like power smoothening, ancillary services, peak shifting etc., and determination of battery profile, dispatch optimization for different applications. Deep understanding of Battery Energy Storage System design, chemistry selection, performance modelling, lifetime estimation simulations of batteries, degradation and augmentation schedules, visualization of business model (duty cycle). Knowledge of design modelling of hybrid renewable energy systems (solar, BESS, wind). Profound knowledge of the fundamental characteristics of current battery technologies and relate them to battery parameters (such as Round-Trip efficiency, Cycle Life, etc.) Understanding of Bi-directional inverter operation, control, and integration with battery systems. Familiarity with DC/DC converter operation, designing or modelling power conversion devices is a plus. Knowledge of the manufacturing quality process of various battery technologies and the battery value chain is a plus. Comprehensive knowledge on latest standards on design, testing and validations and other relevant standards and codes of practice. Ability to work independently, and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Interested in travelling to meetings and projects in India and abroad. Experience in design of power generation mix for hybrid power systems using simulation tools like Homer Pro, Homer Grid, MATLAB is a plus PRB
