Solar Design Engineer

We are a leading firm in the renewable energy sector committed to delivering sustainable and innovative energy solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the development and execution of solar PV projects, from initial site assessment through to the design and analysis of solar energy systems.Key Responsibilities:- Conduct detailed site visits to evaluate potential solar installation sites, assessing physical characteristics, solar potential, and any constraints or risks.- Perform precise shadow analysis using Solarlabs to ensure optimal panel placement and energy output.- Create professional and accurate solar PV system designs using AutoCAD, including layout, electrical diagrams, and structural schematics.- Conduct generation analysis using PV Syst to estimate energy production and validate system performance under different conditions.- Develop detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and cost estimates using Excel, ensuring all necessary components are accurately accounted for and budget constraints are met.- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations affecting solar system design and installation.- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases, ensuring designs are executed as planned.- Document and report on design specifications, installation guidelines, and project progress.Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.- Proven experience in solar system design, including hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Solarlabs, and PV Syst.- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for creating detailed reports and material lists.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment and interacting effectively with stakeholders.- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strict deadlines.- Knowledge of local energy regulations, electrical codes, and performance standards related to solar PV installations.Desired Attributes:- Passionate about renewable energy and committed to advancing solar technology.- Innovative thinker with a knack for identifying and leveraging new opportunities for system efficiency.- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.We look forward to hearing from you and possibly welcoming you to our forward-thinking team dedicated to promoting sustainable energy solutions.
