Senior Manager Air Freight

- Understand the local and regional air freight market .- Understand and make carrier choices.- Develop and assist in managing relationships with local service providers.- Understand and become proficient in shipment consolidation / management- Manage freight receipt, routing and turnover of shipments .- Become proficient in shipment rating.- Understand and handle air shipment transportation.- Consolidation- Notifying customers both internal and external of problems and/or delays.- Timely response to rate quotes .- Timely response to all customer service inquiries.- Identify market trends, potential and customer needs.- Support commercial teams with top accounts as well participate in selected sales calls visits.- Expand/explore new market opportunities after thorough analysis of market intelligence data.- Responsible for managing the local procurement function; ensure negotiated rates with carriers are in line with local, regional and global guidelines and for the best buying conditions (pricing/reliability, connectivity/visibility, frequency/transit-times).- Manage, coach, lead and develop team members and build a motivated and effective team.- Should be able to handle air operations.
