Visit to learn about the CPKC advantage, our purpose and culture.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Supervisor Structures is responsible for the execution of Structures and Facilities maintenance and construction work across Eastern Canada. The successful candidate will manage Facilities crews across the territory and prioritize and assign work to those crews. This individual will have leadership accountability for inputs and outputs of safety, service, productivity and financial metrics.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:Accountable for the management of Structures and Facilities maintenance and construction projects as assigned by the Senior Manager StructuresDirectly manages and accountable for all work executed as assigned by Senior Manager StructuresOversee and supervise facilities crews across Eastern CanadaEnsure safety and compliance for CPKC and crews by implementation of safety practices and efficiency testing for internal crews and contractorsCoordinate with regulatory agencies, third parties and other CPKC departments to ensure execution of bridge workCoordinate the material orders for construction projects ensuring adequate lead time based on planned schedulesPlan work schedules for CPKC Facilities crews and forecast plan/demand for supplemental contract crews based on capital work loadPlan Structures and Facilities maintenance and construction work to ensure the quantity and duration of primary blocks meet operations requirements and coordinated with Track production workComplete weekly and multi-year schedules for Structures and Facilities workPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or GED EquivalentPost-Secondary education with Engineering focus is preferredQualification as a bridge inspector in accordance with CP policy an assetPrevious railway experience, CROR rules qualifiedMinimum 5 year experience with bridge inspection, maintenance or constructionMust be able to work at heights on bridges and with Bridge inspection vehicle (BIV) to perform inspections, supervise maintenance work and perform maintenance work as requiredAbility to drill down, understand root cause and resolve complex issuesDemonstrated capability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to monitor adherence to CP policies and standards as well regulatory requirementsSolid understanding of structural theory, bridge construction practices and inspection requirements and techniquesDemonstrated ability of project management skills including development and management of project schedules and budgetsAbility to simultaneously manage priorities and ensure delivery of key performance metrics during emergency and non-emergency operationsStrong understanding of fall protection safety and practicesUnderstanding of consequence leadership practicesAbility to influence peers at all levels, cross functional co-managers and Executive leadership teamWHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER:Flexible and competitive benefits packageCompetitive company pension planPerformance Incentive ProgramAnnual Fitness SubsidyPart-time Studies ProgramADDITIONAL INFORMATION:As an employer with North American presence, the possibility does exist that the location of your position may be changed based on organizational requirements.Medical Requirements:Operating safely is a core foundation of CPKC.
