Job SummaryThe Senior Planning Manager manages the planning requirements of the project by leading a team of planning professionals and coordinating with the project team with the objective of complying with the contract schedule, communicating the impact on the schedule and advising mitigating measures.Job Responsibilities 1Leads & advises on the management and delivery of the town planning functions and responsibilities of the organization, its projects and program with responsibility for a portfolio of projects.Develops, implements and monitors good management practices for the delivery, management and implementation of organization planning commitments.Manages and liaise with team to develop, implement & monitor strategies and plans required,highlighting risk & recommending and instigating mitigating action as required.Job Responsibilities 2Produces pre-design, design, tender and award, procurement, construction, and completion schedules in order to depict the project and contractual requirements in compliance to the planning procedures including analysis ofproject requirement, preparation of resource and cost loaded planning schedules as well asresource histograms for manpower, material and submittalsEvaluates and analyze the progress obtained through updated status reports in various formats based on the contract schedule in order to provide performance assessment and accurate forecast.Coordinates and liaises with project managers to update the detailed works program as well assubcontractors and authorities in relation to planning & programming matters for the various interfaces that exist on the project.Obtains and analyses the progress updates obtained by the planning teamConducts analysis of alternatives and schedule options to allow "what if" considerations where market fluctuations, implementation of changes, and/ or unanticipated events impact the design and construction schedule in order to formulate better delivery options that can be adopted.Reviews and evaluates the subcontractor's schedules & reports and recommend necessary actions in order to align the subcontracted items in schedule to the contract schedule.Manages subcontractor's schedule in line with the baseline/contract scheduleRecommends necessary actions to the subcontractor when required, especially when slippage will occur.SkillsJob Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge in Principles of Planning and Project ManagementKnowledge in Construction Law, Change Management, and principles and practices of research and data collectionKnowledge of Safety, Quality and Cost ObjectivesFamiliarity with Planning practices and the associated software such as Advanced Primavera6Knowledge in building construction planning and schedulingStrong cost control knowledge & knowledge in preparation of EOT claims & delay analysisAdvanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processesFamiliar with local and international standards in constructionERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.Job ExperienceTotal12year(s)On Job7 year(s)GCC4 year(s)CompetenciesCollaborationCreates Strategy - ProficientDrives Performance - ProficientDevelops Future Leaders - ProficientAccountabilityResilienceQualityLeadershipProject Resource Management L4Cash Flow Analysis L4Primavera Project Planner L4Revenue Forecasting L4Project Tracking and Reporting L4EducationBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or EngineeringProfesional degree in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or PMP
