Constantly patrolling areas where"hot work" is being performed, maintainingvigilance of potential fires.Being familiarwith facilities and procedures for sounding an alarm in the eventof a fire and having a means of notifying emergencyservices.Having fire-extinguishing equipmentreadily available and being well-trained in itsuse.Maintaining the conditions andrequirements stated on the safetypermit.Inspecting the entire work area to lookfor potential release of flammable vapors or liquids before,during, and at the end of each shift.Beingprepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors,and hose carts anytime.Never leaving the jobsite while the work is beingdone.
