Accounting Manager

Every day we impact the lives of millions by changing the way people see the world.    Our Accounting Manager will play a key role for monthly closing, reporting, cash control, compliance and process improvement. The position will report to Finance Director and supervise 2 accounting staff members. Although the position has management responsibilites, we require a playing manager with “hands on” operation.  You will work closely with the Controlling team (FP&A) and Procurement Manager in Finance, Headquarter Finance, Internal / External auditors, professional tax firms, and financial institutions to complete tasks.  

• Hands on Monthly closing - main responsibility is to review GL and cost accounting / inventory.
• Check and review monthly financial package and correspond to Headquarter Finance
• Balance sheet reconciliation review
• Cash flow management, including contacting financial institutions for financing and communicating with APAC treasury.
• Analyze inventory including appropriate reserve accrual and revaluation.
• Review all the monthly accrual from various departments.
• File all required reports by tax and commercial laws.
• Apply in a timely manner tax/accounting new regulations.
• Keep SOX compliance for all business cycles.
• Identify process improvement opportunity and plan the execution.
• Supervise the local accounting staff.
• Have a strong relationship with Global Shared Service Team.
• M&A experience preferred (accounting migration)

• Language; Native Japanese and Fluency in English 
• 8-10 years of working experience in accounting function
• Retail business experience is preferred (understanding of stock, contracts, cash collection etc.)
• SAP experience is a must
• IFRS knowledge is a must
