Join Our Team at Farmers Trading Company Limited NZ! Position: eCommerce Web Development Manager Are you an experienced web development professional with a passion for eCommerce? Farmers is seeking a talented and motivated eCommerce Web Development Manager to lead our digital initiatives and drive the evolution of our online platform. As one of New Zealand's largest and most iconic retail brands, we're committed to delivering exceptional products and service to our customers while continuously innovating in the digital space. The Task:

  • To research, identify and implement web technologies, trends and methodologies to increase Farmers online market share and maximise profitability from online channels.
  • To scope, create, design, test, deploy and support web-based solutions in order to support business initiatives and marketing activities.
  • Managing projects across internal and external teams to ensure that they go-live within time frames, to budget while acknowledging technical constraints.
  • To manage changes and create great experiences across our website working with the digital design team on Landing Pages, Promotions and other areas that can be improved. 
  • Work with our platform provider to ensure the technical aspects of the website and any changes planned, are created using best practise, including a SEO / web core vitals lense. 
What you'll need:
  • Bootstrap or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Understanding of UX principles and best practices, keeping customer experience at the forefront.
  • Implementing of 3rd party APIs
  • A good understanding of GA4 and an analytical mind.
  • Understanding of Salesforce marketing could personalisation would be advantageous but not required. 
  • Experience with CMS or eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and XD
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
  • Established analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages.
  • Managing team members and production traffic.
  • Experience with web security and CDNs helpful.
  • SEO knowledge including using 3 rd party tools such as ahrefs and google search console would be helpful.
