Sport Canterbury is the Regional Sports Trust serving the Canterbury and West Coast region. He angitūtanga: About the Role Sport Canterbury's General Manager provides leadership to our programmes, services and most importantly to our people to ensure the collective commitment and realisation the Trusts vision. This role also provides significant support to the Chief Executive in developing, nurturing and growing key strategic relationships with stakeholders and funders. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Strategic and Business Planning
- Reporting and Contract Management
- Staff Leadership and Management
- Stakeholder/Relationship Management
- Financial Budgeting and Modelling
- Have a sector related tertiary qualification preferably Sport & Recreation Management or Education.
- Have a track record operating at a senior level leading strategic programme development and evaluation.
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Have knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori (or a desire to grow and extend your knowledge).
- Be a respected and experienced leader.
- Understand the not-for-profit, sport and recreation 'sector'.
- Have effective stakeholder relationship management and facilitation skills.
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking capability.
- Have a critical eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Be an effective presenter.
- Display effective written, oral and interpersonal skills.
