Description:

We are looking for an astute procurement officer to oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The procurement officer's responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

Assist in managing the procurement group by mentoring and offering assistance and providing technical/commercial advice and direction to assist them in carrying out their work activities.

Guide the user departments for compliance with approved sourcing policies,

Process approved requisitions from user departments for the purchase of materials and equipment by placing orders with approved vendors within the local and international market.

Maximize value and optimize saving by coordinating alternate sourcing of material, product evaluation, lifecycle costing, competitive bidding and price negotiations with suppliers.

Identifying possibilities for approval by Manager and/or Director for including in the portfolio of Purchase Agreements/ Contracts & Tenders.

Provide full support to the material expeditor as well as ensure quality requirements are met by adherence to company specifications and internationally recognized engineering codes and standards.

Responsible for commercial activities including tendering, change management, contract preparation, negotiation of terms and conditions.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent

Knowledge of computer software systems used in Materials/Contracts.

Experience of the Legal / contracts

7 - 10 years' experience of contracts administration, particularly in relation to purchase of materials or services by tender within the oil and gas industry.

Knowledge of computer software systems used in Materials/Contracts.

Experience of the legal/contracts requirements and definitions, including the use of legal language.

Experience in expediting/tenders and contract management is an absolute must.
