The incumbent must have expert knowledge in the field of psychology and will be expected to facilitate and administer the teaching and learning of students in modules that they will present. The person will be expected to do research, supervise undergraduate and/ post graduate students, contribute to community engagement and to professionally participate in the core functions of the Department and the University.KEYPERFORMANCEAREASSenior Lecturer:· Leadership in the facilitation of academic development.· Leadership in facilitating learning, including e-learning.· Development, revision, and evaluation of learning, teaching and support materials.· Provision of mentoring and clinical supervision.· Provision of research supervision at post-graduate and doctoral levels.· Developing and managing individual and group research.· Carry out departmental and faculty administrative and management duties, and· Involvement in community engagement.Lecturer:Facilitation of academic development.Facilitation of learning, including e-learning.Development, revision, and evaluation of learning, teaching and support materials.Provision of mentoring and clinical supervision.Provision of research supervision at post-graduate and doctoral levels.Developing and managing individual and group research.Carry out departmental and faculty administrative and management duties, andInvolvement in community engagement.CORE COMPETENCIESSenior Lecturer:In-depth knowledge in the theory and application of clinical or counselling psychology.Substantial experience in the facilitation of learning and teaching at both under and post graduate levels.Sound IT knowledge and expertise in technology for blended learning.Leadership role in programme management (e.g., programme leader or coordinator).Clinical and research supervision of Honours, Masters' and Doctoral students.Lecturer:Sound knowledge in the theory and application of clinical or counselling psychology.Experience in the facilitation of learning and teaching at undergraduate level and has potential to contribute at post graduate level.Basic IT knowledge and expertise in technology for blended learning.Participates in programme/module management.Experience in the clinical supervision of Master's in clinical or counselling students.Actively engaged in research and presents papers at academic and professional conferences.Participates       in                         professional/                         academic associations.Served as co-supervisor of research projects at Hons and Master's level.Participates in consulting with NGOs, public & private sector organizations.    POSTREQUIREMENTSTo be considered for the Senior Lecturer's position, in addition to the above the following is required: QualificationsSenior lecturer - A doctoral degree in psychology. RegistrationA minimum of three years' registration as a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist with the Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.Experience2- 6 years' experience in learning and teaching. Research and publications Conducts own research in the discipline of psychology. Evidence of publications in accredited national and international journals.Successfully supervised post graduate projects.To be considered for the lecturer's position, in addition to the above the following is required: QualificationsA Masters' qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.RegistrationA minimum of three years' registration as either a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with the Professional Board for Psychology of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.Experience2- 3 years' experience in learning and teaching.
