Emerge Aotearoa is a committed Tangata Tiriti NGO and a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, well-being, and housing services. In our work we demonstrate the core values of Whakawhanaunga, Manaaki, Ako and Whakamana. Reporting to the General Manager Housing Trust, Strategic Advisor will provide strategic and intellectual support to drive the achievement of Emerge Aotearoa Housing Trust priorities. This senior leadership role involves collaborating closely with the National Tenancy and Property Managers to enhance housing services and facilitate access to sustainable housing for those in need. The Strategic Advisor will bring a strong analytical approach to research and data collection, addressing issues, risks, and opportunities with insight and sensitivity to the housing sector. We are seeking a natural communicator with strong analytical skills, a future-focused mindset, and a genuine passion for identifying opportunities for growth within an NGO environment. You will be motivated to make a meaningful impact on the people we support and their whānau, and you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Full clean NZ driver's license
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a strategic advisory role, preferably in the non-profit sector, with a focus on housing
  • Knowledge of contemporary issues in social service delivery
  • Ability to lead and implement service transformation
  • Proven ability to establish strong networks with stakeholders in the mental health, disability, and housing sectors
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to influence effectively
  • Experience developing and implementing strategy and business plans
  • Strong analytical skills and capability in research, data analysis, and evaluation methodologies
  • Ability to deal with complex and emerging issues
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate PC skills with Microsoft Office applications
