About therole An exciting opportunity has nowarisen for an experienced lawyer to join our skilled and respectedin-house legal team to assist us in providing legal services acrossthe business. Working in our Adelaide headoffice with both our General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, youwill have daily exposure to the executive management team and beexpected to work closely and strategically with the business inAustralia and New Zealand. Duties

  • Providing commerciallyoriented legal advice in relation to a range of commercialcontracts.
  • Drafting commercialagreements and property contracts, including leases andlicences.
  • Advising on ad hoc legal andoperational issues.
  • Assisting with the managementof insurance for Australia and New Zealand
  • Assist in managing litigationmatters, alternative dispute resolution and debt recoveryactions to achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Liaising with external legalproviders.
  • Monitoring legislativechanges and assisting with legal compliancetraining.
  • Participating in internalproject teams on cross business projects.
Aboutyou
  • Admitted to Practice as aSolicitor in South Australia.
  • A current practicingCertificate and at least five years post-admission or Associatelevel experience.
  • Ability to workindependently, be self motivated and pro-active.
  • Experience in constructionlaw, general litigation and or Corporate and Commercial legalin a mid-tier firm, national firm or as part of an in-houseteam will be looked upon favourably.
  • Ability to recognise andrespond to commercial drivers of the business.
  • Up-to-date legal knowledgethrough attendance at relevant CPD programs
  • Excellent communicationskills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels inthe business.
  • Sound knowledge of technologyas it applies to the role.
  • Willingness to develop anin-depth understanding of the Viterra Australian and NewZealand business.
