تفاصيل الوظيفة

Chief Operating Officer, Miami Cancer InstituteBaptist Health South FloridaCoral Gables, FL - United StatesMiami Cancer Institute (MCI) and Baptist Health Cancer Care, a key component of Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), seeks a collaborative, distinguished leader to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer. Reporting to and in partnership with Michael Zinner, MD, MCI's founding CEO and Executive Medical Director, the COO will provide leadership to support operational excellence and the patient experience at MCI's 450,000 square-foot main campus and throughout its 25+ clinics; support initiatives to expand MCI's patient base and overall market; support and collaborate with clinical and other colleagues on operational and patient access improvements and efficiencies; and support the continued expansion and integration of cancer services across BHSF and the markets it serves. This is an outstanding career opportunity for an innovative, collaborative, highly respected oncology operations leader to join a dedicated team in advancing the growth and continued success of a nationally acclaimed, recently developed, fast-growing cancer institute within a high-performing integrated care delivery system.Miami Cancer Institute opened in 2017 with tremendous support from the community to create a world-class institute optimally equipped to serve south Florida, as well as a broader global community, with the best possible technology to help families through their cancer journey. With approximately 2,000 employees and approximately $800 million in annual revenue - with approximately 1300-1400 patients being seen daily, MCI has quickly grown and significantly outperformed all expectations. Recognized by U.S News & World Report as among the top 10 percent of high performing cancer centers in America for 2023-2024, Florida's only member of Memorial Sloan Ketting's Cancer Alliance, and home to the first and most comprehensive proton therapy center in Florida, Latin American, and the Caribbean; MCI has quickly grown to be among the most clinically sophisticated leading cancer centers in the nation, with all the latest therapies under one roof. The COO, working in a highly collaborative model with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and others, will be responsible for all clinic operations and diligently focused on an exceptional patient experience, which is already performing at the top decile compared to national peer organizations. The COO, in concert with the CEO and Chief Medical Officer, will work closely and collaboratively with MCI's physician Deputy Directors, supporting and helping prioritize their various business interests and capital needs. An identified goal in 2024 will be the development of a women's cancer center - the COO will have major responsibilities in supporting the development of this brand new, state-of-the-art, 150,000 square-foot center. As the BHSF operational leader for cancer care, the COO will collaborate with other colleagues, including Lynn Cancer Institute - affiliated with Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, in the integration and coordination of services to advance coordinated, comprehensive, and consistent forms of care across the system. This leader will help advance programmatic growth and support the institute's trajectory of growth as one of the nation's top cancer programs, with top decile performance through rapid adoption of new treatments and procedures, cutting edge technology, clinical trials, and graduate medical education. BHSF and Florida International University recently announced the intent to further expand research and graduate medical education programs, which will further expand capabilities and scope of services and training programs. The COO will be an experienced, proven leader who has served in a high performing cancer institute, and/or complex and matrixed health system as a senior-level operations leader. The successful candidate will be driven, strategic, and must be a collaborative individual who is both outcome-driven, yet who comfortably shares decision-making and ideas with other senior colleagues. Candidates should be growth-oriented and eager to advance goals for the expansion of MCI, yet also be appropriately detailed, comfortable and capable of 'digging' into operational issues, working in a matrixed health system, and developing and mentoring the team supporting operational issues. The COO opportunity is truly a unique, outstanding opportunity to join a dedicated, driven team as part of a growing, high-performing cancer institute that is part of the region's largest integrated health system.Expressions of interest and applications are welcome and can be made via the WittKieffer website using the buttons below or by sending resumes, nominations, and inquiries to Paul Bohne, Dan Young or Stacy Lind, preferably via email at slind@wittkieffer.com .
