Software Engineer Lead in Test (SDET Lead) Pytest

Role: Software Development Engineer in Test LeadDuration: 12 months contract to hire role Onsite: Chennai locationNote: If interested in contract and onsite role then only applyRequirementsMinimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and extensive experience.Proficiency in Python with extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing robust testing frameworks, such as pytest, selenium, playwright, or similar technologies.5-8 years of progressive experience in automated testing, with a focus on leading teams and driving quality initiatives.Demonstrated expertise in API testing and automation, including practical experience with tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar frameworks.Proven track record of leading QA teams in complex software testing projects, including hands-on involvement in test planning, execution, and reporting.Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions (GHA), Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar.Proficient in Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM, with experience in leading Agile testing teams and integrating testing processes seamlessly within Agile workflows.Excellent communication skills with a proficiency in English, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to inspire and guide team members to achieve high-quality results and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify testing gaps, recommend solutions, and drive implementation of best practices for software testing and quality assurance.
