Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic centre which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH's Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 stat labs across Pakistan. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections namely Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training. Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Specialist in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine.  Responsibilities You will provide assistance to the Manager & Chair, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in overseeing the activities and tasks of the Department. Additionally, you will be responsible to: liaise with various sections within the department to ensure timely submission of Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation Forms (OPP) of Facultycompile necessary documentation and prepare graphical comparison reports based on the OPPE submissions and ensure accuracy and completionraise e-Travel requests on the system and arrange travel and accommodation including flights, hotels, and transportationensure compliance with the organization's travel policies and procedures, including travel expense guidelines and approval processesprepare travel expense reports and adjust the expenses incurred for all post-travel requirementsschedule departmental meetings and reserve appropriate venue and equipmentrecord accurate and comprehensive minutes and maintain accurate record of all the meeting minutes and related documentationconduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulationsprovide training and awareness programs on safety and security protocolsprepare well-structured and concise report that effectively communicates the department's activities, accomplishments, and challenges.Requirements You should have: a Master's degree in the relevant fieldat least two to three years of related work experienceknowledge of resource management including financial managementstrong supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skillsability to work in teams to produce innovative solutionability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesproficiency in MS Office.To ApplyYou should send your detailed CVs to human.resources@aku.edu and mention the position number "10001199" in the subject line.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Applications should be submitted latest by February 5, 2024
