Research Specialist (Grants Administration)Department Surgery Entity Medical College LocationIntroduction The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 120 full-time and part-time faculty members committed to teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency, and fellowship programmes are integrated into the academic functions of the Department. Aga Khan University invites applications for the Research Specialist (Grants Administration) in the Department of Surgery. Responsibilities You will be expected to manage extramural and intramural research grants and contracts. Additionally, you will be responsible to: provide information, documents, and expertise to various Principal Investigators (PI) and research advancement teams across the Universityhelp PIs in completing research administration tasks professionally and in compliance with the University's granting agencies and international best practicesadvice and guide PIs regarding the administration of sponsored projectsact as a liaison between PI and the Office of Research & Graduate Studies (ORGS)conduct regular sessions for PI and senior research staff on dynamics, and regular updates in the due diligence processreview proposals considering the institutional and prospective granting agencies' requirementsassist in resolving modification issues that may involve contacting the funding agencyconduct audits of subcontracts for appropriate allocation of fundingensure that all the active projects have valid ERC, which may involve sending regular progress reports of the project.Requirements You should have: a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related fieldcertification in Research & Grants administration preferred3 - 4 years of grant administration experienceknowledge of SAM (Systems of Award Management), Peoplesoft, eCommons, and other online grant submission and management ERPs.To ApplyInterested candidates should send their detailed CVs by email to human.resources@aku.edu and mark position # 10045148 in the subject line.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applications should be submitted latest by February 6, 2024
