Proactively manage WIOCC's Global Network (subsea & terrestrial) to meet quality and performance levels, resolve incidents and problems and, network administration for the SLTE network. Key Duties & Responsibilities Lead the allocated NMC shift team in providing Tier0 - Tier2 Tech SupportAct as duty manager when NMC Manager is not availablePrepare shift handover report and, actively participate in shift leader meetings and improvement planningProactive management of the subsea and terrestrial optical network, resolve incidents and problems, improve performance objectives, manage DCN security and environmental systemsOperate & utilise Wet Plant supervisory systems in applying fault isolation techniques and standard diagnostic procedures to isolate and resolve equipment and circuit problemsCoordinate the turn-up, integration & upgrades of SLTE while ensuring proper functioning of the Wet Plant supervisory systemsManage and build strong partnerships with CLS / DC Engineers, Cable System Owners, Cable System Suppliers and SLTE VendorsCoordinate together with the CLS / DC staff, daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance procedures on Rectifiers, Batteries, GENSET and status of calibration of optical test equipmentSLTE Network Administration and SLTE DCN monitoring & maintenanceTechnical planning of Planned Engineering Works and management through Change ManagementDevelop systems & tools to automate real-time monitoring of optical network performance metrics for network performance managementNetwork release; accept new and changed network from Engineering through ProjectsMentorship & training of Operations team on technical competencyAdhere to, lead compliance with and assist in developing company policies and proceduresCollaborate with other departments and lead and report on projects as requested by the Project OfficeProactively contribute to Network Operations' documentation & process automation as these evolve to align to customers SLAsProvide Tier-III core network support to NOC & TAC, and lead SLTE & transport network equipment vendor escalationsUse B/OSS tools effectively to record information accurately and concisely in a timely mannerProvide NOC Disaster Recovery capability Qualification & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Communications Engineering or extensive work experience in a related fieldTechnical achievements in, any or a combination of, Optical Networking, Subsea cable systems and IP Networking Experience & Skills Requires minimum of 3 years' technical experience in telecom industry, including experience as NMC / NOC / TAC Engineer, managing SLTE network and/or terrestrial DWDM transport networkExtensive experience with Network Management Systems for optical network & IP network e.g., Huawei U2000, Infinera DNA, Ciena MCP / One Control, ASN SN10, Tejas NMS/EMS, Cacti, PRTG etcTechnical experience in supporting optical transmission equipment from leading vendors e.g., Infinera, Ciena, Huawei, ADVA, Tejas etcExperience with; optical test equipment (OSA, OTDR, BERT), optical network KPIs (OSNR, Q-Factor) and photonic layer management (C-Band spectrum)Knowledge of DCN operations, management & network securityKnowledge of DWDM / SDH / OTN / Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS) communications protocolsKnowledge of subsea repair operations - procedures and proactive monitoring of cable routesAbility to collaborate with multiple vendors & stakeholders and, articulate & present key informationExpert knowledge of at least one trouble ticket system; NetSuite desirableDemonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment involving live customer traffic & maintenance windows Attributes Client focused, relationship builderIntegrity, honest with high ethical standardsBoundless, passionate and flexiblePersonal excellence, accuracy and attention to detailCollaborative, achieve results through teamwork and partnershipsStrong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sourcesExcellent English language communicator with a natural aptitude for dealing with peopleExcellent network diagnostic and problem-solving skillsWilling to work on a 24/7 shift including nights, weekends and public holidays / on-call as required How to Apply Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting their updated CV including three referees.
