Job DescriptionThis role supports the smooth running of the production applications and infrastructure and is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts. The incumbent has broader knowledge than the IT Support Specialist and works across many platforms.Supports the running of production applications and Infrastructure.Provides 24 x 7 first-line standby / support for production environments.Creates temporary fixes within systems to achieve Service Level Agreements.Provides technical advice and consultation to the business.Identifies and implements cost saving / optimisation initiatives.Participates in and co-ordinates systems handover process (OSSP).Acquires and applies knowledge of business processes, procedures, policies and practicesCommunicates effectively regarding support related activities.Participates in software and/or hardware upgradesResponsible for capacity monitoringPro-actively monitors the production environmentLeads others in technical initiatives across platforms/environments e.g. cost saving, timingQuality Assurance within role, checks work of others MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED FOR THE JOB) Grade 12 Certificate/MatricMinimum 8 years practical technical support experienceSuitable Formal IT / ITIL qualification will be advantageous.Financial services industry knowledge and verifiable knowledge of IT in financial servicesTechnical knowledge of SQL applications, databases, and IT concepts preferableExperience working with AWS, Azure, SaaS, VMS, Cloud (preferred)Agile/Safe skills and relevant accreditation will be advantageous.SkillsEducationClosing Date24 April 2024The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.
