About Abergeldie Abergeldie is an Australian owned contractor with over 25 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities. About the role This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced in-house lawyer to join our legalteam.Reporting to our General Counsel you will have the opportunity to work across all aspects of the business and get exposure to whole of business operations. Day to day you will use your legal and commercial experience to; Assistin procurement for subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. Reviewclient contracts and evaluate and manage risk and assist estimators withtender submissions. Draft,settle, amend and advise on a range of corporate and commercial contracts. Provideadvice on joint venture agreements and other key contracts. Provideadvice to project delivery teams with respect to claims. Providead-hoc advice in relation to dispute matters; and Work aspart of an in-house legal team to support the executive. This role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. Abergeldie is supportive of a hybrid flexibleworking model. What you'll bring to the team Tertiaryqualifications in law and admission as a solicitor in an Australianjurisdiction (or eligibility for admission). Minimumof 5 years post qualification experience within a law firm or relevantexperience within the corporate sector. Experiencein relevant practice sectors such as infrastructure, construction orengineering and an awareness of accounting and financial principles. Experiencewith insurance and disputes highly advantageous. Understandingof security of payment legislation across various jurisdictions. Anability to work autonomously and proactively collaborate with othersacross the business. Anability to manage competing priorities. Astrong attention to detail. Apassion for commercial and, in particular, construction law. Excellentanalytical, drafting and communication skills. Exceptionalinterpersonal skills and an ability to relate effortlessly andeffectively; and Abilityto show flexibility and adaptability.
