Web Development Team Lead

We are looking for a leader for our talented and expanding web team - someone who is not only great with JavaScript and React, but also a team leader who can coach, mentor and build a high performing engineering team, enjoys a challenge and is interested in being hands-on with building new and improving existing features in our web apps and integrations. You will be responsible for leading the web front-end engineering team working on our core web products, driving innovation, and embracing challenges. You will have the opportunity to not only build exceptional web front-end solutions but also guide and mentor other team members, working alongside our web tech lead and other platform leads. Required experience and technologies 8+ years of experience in JavaScript and React development Experience building large complex web solutions and evolving the code over years of product releases, and building teams Experience/interest in problem-solving using functional programming techniques Keeping up-to-date with the latest engineering approaches and designing strategies to evolve codebases and training team members in modern front-end engineering practice Experience with WASM and web workers Understanding of core browser rendering mechanics to deliver smooth high demanding user interactions Nice-to-have Experience with the PDF document format Knowledge of / interest in working with 2D graphics, Cartesian geometry, matrices and mathematics in general Responsibilities Be a thought leader and evolve and progress the front-end engineering practice at Drawboard Mentor and provide leadership to developers ranging from juniors to seniors, fostering a collaborative environment while driving high-quality code, designs and practices. Designing and implementing solutions to complex problems with high-quality code and architecture Own Drawboard's web front-end products from a technical standpoint Contribute to and be a part of a fun-loving, diverse and distributed team Who we are Melbourne based, global focus with team members around Australia and the US.
