Job Description About the team The Technology team leads the delivery and operation of technology solutions that underpin the overall digital and business strategy which is to empower world class governance through quality products and services that meet evolving customer needs. ?The team also ensures the optimal functioning of technology operations; service management; cyber security; IT risk and compliance; DevOps; and procurement activities with external partners. About the role As the DevOps Engineer the key focus is to deliver operational value and optimise the end-user experience by leveraging your DevOps expertise and driving scalability, automation and innovation. Being part of the design implementation and supporting across the scope of DevOps, you will also enhance performance through contributions to quality development-to-production practices to deliver infrastructure, platforms and software. An essential element to this role is strong engagement capabilities as you will need to cultivate effective relationships with key stakeholders and cross functional teams to achieve deliverables and successful outcomes. Your remit will be broad and will include: Contribute to the effective implementation of the DevOps delivery plan, ensuring integration with existing systems. Manage the deployment, performance and health of applications in production, from infrastructure to software components, to ensure system reliability, consistency availability and security. Deliver on rapid coding across writing, testing, reviewing, integration and deployment while maintaining quality, stability, productivity and version control practices. Resolve technical and environment issues through investigation and analysis of errors to inform deployment of fixes, optimisations and updates. Use tools to support automation of manual processes through automated testing and continuous integration and continuous deployment. Collaborate and build strong relationships with the wider digital team, such as the Release Manager and Digital Squads to achieve deliverables. Manage the cloud infrastructure and support the cloud computing stack and services across IaaS, PaaS, serverless, and SaaS. Identify opportunities for continual improvement and avenues to maximise value and efficiency such as automation derived from existing services. Support the integration and testing of components, systems and their interfaces to create operational services, ensuring that all platform services are working efficiently in on-premise and cloud environments. Create, maintain, update, technical records and documentation. Desired Skills and Experience About you You will have strong technical aptitude and previous relevant experience, and you will champion the AICD values of: Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Collaboration. In addition, you will also have the following: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a DevOps Engineer or similar role with a software development or infrastructure development background and exposure working on multiple platforms across system environments. Exceptional experience and capability across Microsoft cloud stack (Azure, Office365). Proven capability using Terraform, Bicep and other IaC languages. Demonstrated experience with tools including Git, GitHub, Chef, Ansible. and optionally Jenkins, Docker, Puppet. High level of analytical, problem-solving and resolution focused mindset while being proactive and conscientious. Well-developed ability to communicate, engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders and cross functional teams. Experience with integration technology, pipeline creation, automation best practices and processes. Knowledge of scripting languages including primarily PowerShell Java, JavaScript. Knowledge of infrastructure development and the software development life cycle. Good understanding of IT security requirements, concepts and maintaining security design principals.
