Over three-quarters of our land area is open space, consisting of 10 national parks and 15 state forests.Over 40,000 people call the Eurobodalla Shire home, and we attract over 1.2 million visitors every year.About the roleThis position is a full time role in the Waste Services team, based at the Surf Beach Waste Management Facility. The successful candidate will be required to competently operate a compactor at Council's Waste Management facilities and provide a multi-skilled tip attendance service at Council's waste depots.Your main duties will include: Operating a compactor and other plant to maintain the landfill site.Maintain plant in a clean condition and carry out routine servicing of plant.Monitor and maintain leachate and stormwater drains.Undertake litter pick up around site.Provide customer service concerning Council's waste operations and fees.Assist with the sales and resource recovery operations at the Buy Back Centre.Operate hand tools and machinery.Operate weighbridge. Salary InformationTotal remuneration for the role is in the range $2,630.56 to $2,838.61 gross per fortnight consisting of: $2,275.33 to $2,462.77 base salary$94.54 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance$260.69 to $281.30 superannuation (at 11%) Appointment to this position is subject to the following: A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position. About youThe ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and safely operating a compactor,including working on elevated or steep ground and work to levels. You will be confident across a range of plant items and be across completing important workplace documentation. You will also need to demonstrate the following: Experience in operating a forklift and hand tools and machinery.Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment.Demonstrated commitment to customer service.Ability and willingness to work flexibly in accordance with Award provisions.
