Senior Manager, Platform Engineering More time off for the things that matter - Up to 6 weeks' leave Work where we work best - Hybrid office/work-from-home environment The Senior Manager, Platform Engineering is responsible for the management of technology and services platform roadmaps, team structures and ongoing training of employees to ensure high quality and timely delivery of business appropriate solutions. This role is accountable for all platform management, including services functions, and will drive product management practices, ensuring the platform engineering teams drive ongoing enablement and business value-centric mindset. In addition, the role will have responsibility for leading the organisation-wide reinvention of a platforms roadmap that empowers and engages employees to adopt (or exploit) new technology and increase dexterity. This includes supporting any changes through effectivemunication and coordination at all levels of the organisation. Where appropriate, the Senior Manager, Platform Engineering may act as 2IC for the Head of Cloudputing & Technology Operations About the role People Management: Develop a talent strategy with flexibility to amodate future changes and needs Provide ongoing coaching and promote development of direct reports Engage in recruitment processes as appropriate from time to time Ensurepliance with appropriateernance and coordination activities ( technologyernance, release coordination, end-usermunications, reporting, optimising licensing, and entitlements) Operations: Establish the product roadmap (domain vision, mission, and strategic direction) of responsible teams Drive customer and employee experience improvements in consultation with the Head of Cloudputing & Technology Operations, People and Culture team, Facilities and other IT and business leaders Drive establishment and maintenance of metrics of value for services across Platforms Engineering teams, in consultation with Service Management team Lead the development, publication, and maintenance of the platform product portfolios, as well as the roadmap for its future development aligned to business requirements Manage and develop productive relationships with strategic technology and services vendors (in collaboration with Technology, Sourcing, Procurement domain and vendor management colleagues) Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans for responsible technologies Oversee relevant technology projects, champion change within the business usermunity Ensure the ongoing security operational hygiene of solutions are maintained, particularly in the areas of patching and vulnerabilities management Support the Service Desk, Desktop Support, and other concierge teams through escalation responsiveness, from time to time Ensure appropriate risks and issues (including near misses) are efficiently escalated to the Head of Cloudputing & Technology Operations, or as outlined in Perpetual's Risk Management Policy and procedures Strategy: Lead the development and management of relevant domain product management services strategy and lifecycle in line with the Perpetual enterprise architecture framework Serves on IT planning and policymakingmittees Drives the development of enterprise technology standards,ernance processes and performance metrics Develop and be accountable for relevant technology standards, usage, and licensing to optimise costs and data policies Define and execute standardised IT support improvement strategies, leveraging cross-functional resources Actively seek to identify and understand how new and emerging technologies and platforms may be assessed, integrated, and introduced to ensure IT capabilities remain responsive to business demands Financial: Review all proposed relevant operating and capital expenditure to ensure alignment with overall IT andpany objectives Manage platform engineering technology budget allocation and growth projections, supporting broader portfolio delivery Drive relevant project forecasting and transition to BAU projections for relevant technologyponents Manage team resourcing in line with IT andpany objectives, maintaining supply and demand projections and project recovery targets About you Bachelor's degree in IT, Business (or other relevant field) and/or relevant experience Framework certifications - ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT, TOGAF or similar highly desirable 10+ years' experience in managing IT support, systems, and processes. Deep technical understanding of multiple technologies. Strong technology management experience with a track record of building high performing teams. Broad experience in architecture, engineering, delivery, and operations functions. Experience leading technology changes and deployments. Working knowledge of cloud analytics and FinOps. Experience in applying organisational change management methodologies. Experience in strategic technology planning and policy development.
