AusPac Accounting Policy and Financial Reporting ManagerPrimary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Location: Sydney Type: Permanent, full time The opportunity As part of QBE's global Finance function, this role will report into the Head of Group Accounting Policy, and will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of Group accounting policies, providing advice on accounting matters to supportmercial decision-making and supporting the delivery of the statutory financial statements and related board reporting for the Australia Pacific (AusPac) division. In this truly visible and outward facing role, you will interpret and practically apply accounting standards, train global finance teams on the latest developments and be an expert advisor to the business onmercial transactions andplex accounting matters. Your new role In this role you will Develop Group accounting policies, and drive the implementation of Group accounting requirements across the Australia Pacific division by providing and maintaining accounting guidance to support practical application in amercial setting. Partner with finance and business teams across QBE to provide accounting advice and support on a wide range ofplex transactions and projects, with a focus on the Australia Pacific division. Support the delivery of the Australia Pacific statutory financial statements and play a key role in driving associated Board reporting deliverables on critical judgements and estimates and key accounting matters. Deliver training for the global financemunity in relation to the application of Australian Accounting Standards. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and maintain strong relationships to drive excellent oues Advocate an effective risk andpliance culture by effectively designing and implementing procedures, with control evidence where appropriate Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2/3 interviews (including psychometric testing and case study) and background checks. About you To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Accountant within the insurance sector with solid technical accounting skills plus a passion for people and stakeholder engagement. Some of the other essential criteria include: Qualified Accountant with extensive post-qualification accounting experience Excellent technical accounting knowledge within the insurance sector Knowledge and experience of IFRS 17 is advantageous Proven experience of working with people at all levels in the organisation Experienced and confident training presenter Excellent written and verbalmunication skills, with an ability to clearlymunicateplex topics About QBE We can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future - helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
