Role: Study Group CoordinatorLocation: PerthTerm: Full-time -month fixed term Overview of Role ILSC Education Group is one of Australia's largest and fastest-growing language schools, known for the quality, rigour and variety of programs that are tailored to best meet international student needs and interests. ILSC Programs include General English, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS Preparation, Cambridge Preparation, and a variety of engaging Elective classes. As a full-time teacher, the Study Group Coordinator plays a crucial role in teaching English courses, engaging ILSC students in their English language studies, ensuring best practice in Learning & Teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and use of educational technology, being a successful mediator between a descriptive curriculum and student goals and needs, supporting student academic progress and student satisfaction, ensuring academic integrity at all times, working collaboratively and constructively within the teaching and broader teams, completing all administrative and reporting tasks as required, and adhering to relevant ILSC Policies and Procedures. In addition to their teaching, the Study Group Coordinator fulfills extra duties to further support the Student & Community Outreach Team (SCO Team) with study group programs throughout the year. The Study Group Coordinator works closely with the National Coordinators, Student & Community Outreach, in the planning, preparation, execution, and reporting of the study group programs. The split between the Teacher and the Study Group Coordinator role varies, depending on program demand. The Study Group Coordinator will represent ILSC's core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos, and participating actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups. The Study Group Coordinator reports to the campus Director of Studies and works closely with the National Coordinators, Student & Community Outreach. The Study Group Coordinator is engaged under the terms of The National Employment Standards (NES) and the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award . Job Duties The Teacher duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: Teach a variety of multimodal (face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid) ELICOS classes (teaching roster and total weekly hours to vary based on operational need but not to exceed hours)Work collaboratively with ILSC Head Teachers and other ILSC TeachersPrepare and upload clear lesson plans prior to each lessonPerform periodical analyses of student goals and needs against set learning outcomesEmbrace a principled communicative methodological approachEngage students in their learning through a student-centred teaching philosophyEnhance classroom learning and teaching by implementing new resources and technologiesProvide students with regular formative feedback including writing tasks and summative academic progress reports in accordance with ILSC guidelinesBe alert to and escalate student welfare concerns as appropriateComplete all teaching-related admin accurately and within required deadlinesAttend and actively participate in Session Meetings & Professional Development SessionsActively contribute to ILSC's positive learning ethos and inclusive, collegiate staffroom cultureCommit to reflective practice (self/peer observations, engaging with ELT literature and trends)Participate in and represent ILSC in SIGs and CoPsOther related duties or projects as determined by the campus Director of Studies The Study Group Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks: Support the SCO Team in preparing tailored activity calendars and study group programsSupport with recruitment and training of group mentors and provide them with ongoing guidance during the programsManage study groups throughout their stay in AustraliaGreet the groups at the airport whenever neededWelcome the group on the first day on campus, run orientation session and a city tour as appropriateBook and ensure activity tours after school and on weekends based on a predefined activity calendarOrganise transportation and meals as required, including prepaid cards and vouchersCollect and manage footage of groups and support the Marketing Team with content for social media campaignsHelp organise and provide on-the-ground support for graduation ceremoniesAct as the liaison between groups and the SCO TeamFunnel teacher/course/activity feedback through to the Global Curriculum Team and the SCO Team for continuous improvementAssist SCO team with staff and student activitiesOther related duties or projects as determined by the campus Director of Studies or the National Coordinators, Student & Community Outreach Key Selection Criteria Education and Experience Recognised Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)Cambridge CELTA or Cert IV TESOL (or equivalent)Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practicesExperience teaching young learners (desirable)Experience in managing study groups (desirable)Experience with online learning management systems and multimodal deliveryDemonstrated focus on continuous professional development (English Australia CPD Framework, IATEFL TEASIG and NEAS CPD Points highly regarded) Skills and Attributes Passionate about English language teaching and international educationPassionate about student and staff welfare and a deep sense of compassion for and understanding of the challenges faced by international students and staff in AustraliaExcellent people skills and ability to engage students of all levels and backgrounds with compassion and understandingSophisticated intercultural awareness and communication skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsWillingness and flexibility to teach across different course types and levelsEffective time management skills to meet sessional deadlinesAbility to deal with unexpected issues and differing student needsAbility to problem-solve under pressure or escalate as requiredExcellent team collaboration skillsAbility to work autonomously as well as within a teamExcellent organisational, administrative and computer skills, including MS OfficeInterest in social media & brandingExcellent work ethicProfessional appearance and demeanourCurrent Working with Children Check (as per state requirements)Full Australian work rights
