It Innovation Lead

The RoleReporting to the Manager Business Improvement, the IT Innovation Lead will lead IT innovation within Melbourne Water, creating opportunities for innovation and breaking through current barriers. In this role, you will promote technology innovation and create an environment where experimentation with digital technologies can be effectively fostered.This will be achieved through: Setting up structures, frameworks, funding and resourcing to enable technology innovation.Developing new IT services, processes and methods to quickly prototype, build and prove concepts for new and innovative technologies.Establishing external networks and relationships at a strategic level to be able to effectively leverage innovation taking place within the water industry and elsewhere.Developing and maintaining a collaborative and supportive working relationship with IT and business stakeholders and influencers.Identifying, evaluating and exploring new opportunities to deliver customer value and increased value to our business. This is a great opportunity for someone with a real passion for new ideas and technologies and how that could be applied to the workplace.Please note that this is a fixed-term contract for 12 months as a result of internal movement.Your Skills and Experience Experience establishing or managing an innovation function, processes and frameworks highly regarded.Previous experience with common innovation methods and software development lifecycle (SDLC) including rapid prototyping, design thinking, agile design and delivery, open innovation etc.Solid understanding of the technology landscape including new and emerging digital trends and potential use-cases.Highly developed research and analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically, quickly evaluate technology solutions and identify high value opportunities.Demonstrated ability to utilise and leverage Microsoft and the Power Platform environment including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.Exposure to Azure/AWS resource management and provisioning services such as Virtual Machines, web app & container services, database platforms and cloud storage.Solid understanding of modern web and mobile application frameworks, API integration and database technologies.
