Are you ready to lead a team and make a significant impact in the transport and logistics industry? Are you energetic and proactive, ready to take a step into Operations Management or still early in your Operational Management career and wanting to upskill? We're seeking a dedicated Operations Manager for our Kewdale Dangerous Goods Site, responsible for supplying Ammonium Nitrate to mine sites across Western Australia.

Reporting into the on-site Branch Manager, this position plays a crucial role in leading and supporting operational activities and drivers to ensure the execution of contractual obligations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Your focus will be on effective cost management, load and route utilisation, resource allocation, and maintaining the highest safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities will include: Allocate Resources: Strategically assign personnel and assets to meet operational targets and service standards in line with contractual obligations.

Leadership: Provide strong leadership, fostering a positive workplace culture through collaboration and influencing the mindset of our people to enhance overall regional capability.

Set Objectives: Define operational objectives and ensure their successful delivery through effective team management, translating long-term goals into day-to-day objectives.

Drive Innovation: Contribute to innovation and change across operations by providing strong leadership and fostering a culture of accountability.

Customer Relations: Build strong relationships with customers, responding promptly to daily and weekly changes in operational requirements.

Safety Advocacy: Drive safety initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to statutory and regulatory frameworks, promoting a workplace of Safety First.

Key Skills required: Relevant Knowledge: Sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and fatigue management in the Transport industry, specifically in handling dangerous goods.

Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation with an excellent understanding of customer needs and value addition.

Operational Expertise: Knowledge of personnel and operational requirements, including training and compliance.

Incident Management: Proficient incident management and investigation skills, capable of determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Analytical Skills: Ability to consider a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems and making decisions.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications/ Skills - Education and/or professional: Tertiary qualification in logistics or business-related discipline, or equivalent experience (highly desirable).

At least 5 years of management experience in transport, logistics, or related industry.

Essential Personal Attributes: Ability to clearly communicate the value Toll can deliver to business outcomes and the customer.

Demonstrated planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.

Creative and innovative in approach to delivering services.
