Rates: $120 - $170 per hour (inc. super)

Services Australia is seeking an Information Management System Database Administrator Expert will deliverplatform improvements, whilst making changes necessary to support DVAs migrationfrom ObjectStar databases to Db2 databases. Database Administrator Experts willengage in scoping, sourcing, and optimising database. environments for analysis.

They will apply innovative analysis techniques and model results and scenarios,while maintaining the integrity of the system. Database Administrator Experts will beproficient with system databases, data elements, application software, and other toolsets to develop enterprise data solutions.

Database Administrator Experts will exercise a considerable degree of independenceand undertake a leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance ofthe leadership team.

Some out of hours work may be required, to complete scheduled work or assist withcomplex incidents.

Key Tasks/Duties/Requirements: Provide expert advice to technical specialists and stakeholders and seek theircooperation in the provision of database administration services.Schedule and manage database software installations and upgrades to maintaincurrency with supported environments.Administer the database configuration, security, scheme and objects, ensuringcompliance against agreed standards and guidelines.Manage the data management process including initial loading, creating, maintaining,and distributing data.Implement corrective actions to improve performance and availability of databases.Design and plan operational backup, archival and recovery activities and cyclical disaster recovery exercises.Escalate unresolved system issues to appropriate vendors or stakeholders andmanage these in accordance with agreed service level agreements to minimiseuser/system downtime.Manage the development of processes, security measures, standards and bestpractices aimed at enhancing the availability, security and performance of dataassets.Prepare and review corporate and technical documentation.Develop data capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to increase performance, engagement and retention.Knowledge of IMS on z/OS MainframeEssential Criteria 2.5+ years of Mainframe IMS Database Administration experience.Desirable Criteria 1.5+ years of experience with IMS database, IMS connector, IM2 gatewayand related tools.2.5+ years of experience IMS monitoring and diagnostics analysis.Experience with rolling out maintenance for IMS across mainframe systems.Knowledge of the design and processes required to implement HighAvailability configuration for IMS.Understanding of z/OS interfaces (ISPF, REXX, JCL etc.) and softwareinstallation methodologies (SMP/E etc.)Knowledge of ACF/2 security and how it applies to the IMS environment
