Cost Controller

Job Description This role is to coordinate all activities for the cost control and financial planning of the MacIntyre Wind Farm Precinct construction project, ensuring the day-to-day cost controls are executed efficiently and effectively. The role is based in Brisbane with regular travel to site in SE Queensland.

Key Responsibilities: Cost Control and planning of Macintyre Wind Precinct project, including review of approved budgets, setting budget goals, analysis and monitoring of performance against budget;Develop, under guidance from the broader EPC team and in accordance with internal requirements, the project cost baseline;Maintain the project cost reporting throughout the project life cycle;Work closely with the Deputy Project Director, Project Manager, Contracts Manager and Finance department to monitor cost performance, and maintain cashflow forecasting.Develop relationships across the project to facilitate maintenance and tracking of costEstimate potential additional works using first principlesPreparation of budget change requests for any changes to the project scope outside of the original parameters upon which the approved budget is basedCost control reporting for the project including:Preparation of monthly cost reports (for both internal and external stakeholders) including analysis of deviations and any corrective measures proposed.Reporting on cost related matters as required to facilitate management decision-making processes and ensuring optimal technical and economic viability.Required Skills and Competencies A Degree or equivalent background in Engineering and/or Accounting/Business or similar will be advantageous;Relevant experience (8+ years) in finance and cost control relating to large-scale construction projects, preferably wind sector projects on both Principal and Contractor side ideally;Proven competence in financial auditing, production control, financial tracking of construction projects;Experience in working on site-based construction/engineering projects;Exposure to Joint Venture projects advantageous;Advanced knowledge of MS Office Package especially Excel;Flexibility to travel as required.
